Art Bernardi Stadium in Butler, PA to Host National Championship

BUTLER, Pa. – The National Club Football Association (NCFA) is proud to announce that the 2026 NCFA National Championship Game will be hosted at Art Bernardi Stadium on the campus of Butler Area High School on Saturday, December 5, 2026.

The premier event in collegiate club football will bring the nation’s top NCFA teams to Butler as they compete for a national championship. The game will showcase the highest level of competition in the NCFA and provide student-athletes with the opportunity to compete on one of the biggest stages in collegiate club football.

Art Bernardi Stadium provides a championship-caliber setting in a community with deep football roots. Butler Area High School has produced some of the game’s most accomplished players, including six-time NFL Pro Bowler Rich Saul, a standout at Michigan State University and longtime anchor of the Los Angeles Rams offensive line, and Terry Hanratty, the legendary Notre Dame quarterback and two-time Super Bowl champion with the Pittsburgh Steelers. That tradition of excellence makes Butler a fitting host for collegiate club football’s premier event.

“We are excited to bring the NCFA National Championship to Butler and Art Bernardi Stadium,” said NCFA President Sandy Sanderson. “The community’s passion for football, combined with the quality of the facility, makes this an outstanding destination to crown our 2026 national champion.”

The championship game is expected to draw student-athletes, coaches, alumni, and fans from across the country, while generating significant visibility for the Butler community and providing a memorable championship experience for all participants.

“We are honored to welcome the NCFA National Championship to Butler,” said Rick Yarosz, Director of Tourism Development for Experience Butler County. “This event represents an exciting opportunity to showcase our community and continue Butler’s proud football tradition on a national stage.”

The NCFA, the national governing body for collegiate club football, provides student-athletes from colleges and universities across the country with the opportunity to compete in organized intercollegiate football competition while enhancing leadership development, campus involvement, and competitive excellence.

Additional championship information, including kickoff time, ticket details, participating teams, and ancillary events, will be announced at a later date.

NCFA National Championship Relocated due to Weather

The National Club Football Association was informed late Tuesday night that the University of Toledo Athletics Department is no longer willing to host the 2025 NCFA National Championship Game citing “unplayable field conditions” at the Toledo Glass Bowl. The agreement for the Glass Bowl to host the game had been in place for months.

After an almost a 24-hour search, we have reached an agreement with NCFA member school Wright State University, to host the game at Mulhollan Field in Fairborn, Ohio.

Kickoff is now scheduled for 10:30 a.m. and the gates will open at 9:30 a.m. Bleacher seating is limited, so fans are encouraged to arrive early or bring lawn chairs and blankets. Tickets previously purchased for admission to the Toledo Glass Bowl will be honored at Mulhollan Field.  If you are unable to attend the game at Wright State but already purchased tickets, you may request a refund by emailing [email protected] with Ticket Refund in the subject line.  Please be understand that we will not be able to respond and process your refund until the week after the National Championship game when we return to the office.
