The 2025 Post season would be one of the wildest in NCFA History.  2025 would see the North Atlantic and South Atlantic Conferences merge into one conference (Mid-Atlantic) featuring both a North and South Division much like how the Great Lakes conference has operated with East and West Divisions for many years.  With the NCFA consolidating down to just 2 conferences, there would be no need to host an NCFA playoff as the Conference Championships would serve as a de-facto playoff delivering the Mid-Atlantic and Great Lakes Champions to compete for the National title!

The 2025 NCFA National Title was scheduled to be hosted at the beautiful Glass Bowl in Toledo, OH between Ohio State (GLC) and Coppin State (MAC).    However just 72 hours prior to kickoff, an Ice storm tore through Toledo burying the Glass Bowl Turf in several inches of ice and thus making the surface unplayable.  The scramble began, with all hands on deck.  Representatives from the NCFA, OSU, and CSU began cold calling every facility they could find between Toledo and Pittsburgh to find a new venue to host the National Championship in just 48 hours.

Hats off to Wright State University who was able to offer up their field for us to play the game as scheduled… well sort of.  Wright State was hosting a major concert on campus that day so the game would have to be played at 10:30 am in order to have the parking lots cleared for the afternoon concert.  Wright State is 2 1/2 hours away from the original game venue  in Toledo, where Copping State already  had paid for non refundable hotel rooms.  So the Eagles had to wake up early Sat morning and bus 2.5 hours to the field to play.

Ohio State and NCFA staff arrived early to join the members of the Wright State club football team to get the field cleared in time for kickoff.  This was definitely a CLUB sports event.  All the bells and whistles were out the window, the game was live streamed from a tailgating tent on a grassy noll thanks to 450 feet of extension cords.  So many people stepped up just to help get this game played.  Players, coaches, fans, all had terrific attitudes towards getting these players the chance to compete on the field.

The game would be won by Ohio State 28-8 claiming their 2nd straight National Title.  Unfortunately the chaos of the venue change cause the NCFA to host this game with a skeleton crew of a operations staff and thus no stats were accumulated during the game.  But the broadcast lives on for those who want to relive the memories!
